Welcome to One More Turn

It's time to make a move.

Hello everyone!

My name is Lloyd, and this is the first issue of One More Turn, a newsletter for strategy and turn-based games both digital and physical.

As I mentioned on my ‘About’ page, I was most recently Editor in Chief at GGRecon, and have spent time at Dexerto and Gfinity before that. I had planned on starting this off in November, but with a change to my circumstances I figured I’d go for it - and I’m really thankful you’re here reading it.

While I love all aspects of gaming, some of my fondest early memories are playing Civilization on the family PC or getting to trade Pokemon cards as a kid. I wanted somewhere where I could rekindle that feeling that only comes from outplaying an opponent or getting that exciting new card, and share that with like-minded strategy fans. Hence, One More Turn is a chance to share that love of genres and subgenres that often fall through the cracks.

What to expect from One More Turn

It’s still early days, but you can expect some weekly fun delivered to your email inbox on Fridays covering thoughtful discussions about strategy games, a deeper look at indies in the genre, looks at board games, and news about card games that range from Magic to Disney Lorcana, to Pokemon to Yu-Gi-Oh!

Will we be able to snag some interviews with strategy game devs and card artists? Who knows, but you’ll have to subscribe to find out.

So, whether you’re excited to play Civilization 7 next year, you’re curious about the Divinity Original Sin board game, or you’re looking for a rundown of the ever-expanding list of best Commander Decks for Magic The Gathering, you’ll find a little something you love right here.
